Your share of £4.3m Discretionary Grants fund on its way
Between 29 May and 15 June, over 800 small businesses applied for the latest Government grant scheme locally and the Council has since been working hard to review each case to ensure payments can be made as soon as possible.
All small business applicants should now be contacted within the next two weeks and advised on the outcome of their application and the level of grant support which will be provided. The first payments and award notifications were issued on 23 June.
Where necessary further information may be requested before grants can be issued.
Hospitality & Tourism businesses reopening from July 4
From 4 July, all businesses and venues in England can reopen, except for a small number of ‘close proximity’ venues such as nightclubs, soft-play areas, indoor gyms, swimming pools, water parks, bowling alleys and spas, which will need to remain closed for now. The new government guidance to help you plan your re-opening has now been released and you can find it here.
In addition, updated guidance now recommends that you keep two metres away from people as a precaution or one metre when you can mitigate the risk by taking other precautions. Details on mitigating risks is available here.
Over the coming week, we will be issuing further support and guidance from our local agencies including Licencing, Police and Fire services to help you re-open and recover.
