Best Viewpoints in Poole

Poole has some of the nicest views in Dorset and we will run you through some of the most attractive viewpoints in Poole.

CONSTITUTION HILL VIEWPOINT

One of the most beautiful spots in Poole. Accessed by heading towards Springfield Road and parking in one of the many bays which face the viewpoint. The best time to visit this point is either for sunrise or sunset, both times are stunning looking over Poole Quay, Brownsea Island and beyond.

Many people come here at night with some food, eat it in their car whilst relaxing with their partner at this stunning viewpoint. However, if you live nearby and didn’t drive here, there are multiple seats and even benches further down the hill for you to setup a small picnic for yourself.

PINECLIFF GARDENS

One of the most beautiful viewpoints in all of Poole. These small, well-kept gardens with an array of benches offers distant views along both stretches of beach as well as across the bay to Old Harry rocks. There is a tap nearby for water, a little shelter for bad weather days and steps down to the beach where there is a kiosk and a short walk toilets. It is a long way down with steep slopes and several flights of steps.

The views span across to Poole Bay from the Isle of Wight to the Purbeck Hills. It is maintained by local volunteers supported by the Branksome Park & Canford Cliffs Residents' Association.

POOLE HARBOUR VIEWPOINT FROM STUDLAND

This is a layby on the way to Studland, Swanage but it has one of the most exquisite views of Poole Harbour. If you are visiting on sunrise or sunset, this viewpoint will fill your camera with some amazing photos of the harbour as well as your mind with some amazing memories. Dorset is truly a stunning place to live for everyone!

Take the B3351 next to Corfe Castle car park if you want the panoramic view over Poole Harbour.

TYNEHAM VIEWPOINT

A 30-minute drive from Poole Centre but it is 100% worth the drive for the stunning view once you get there. Many people say this is one of the best viewpoints in Dorset, with its views spanning from Portland Bill to Poole Quay.

It’s free to park here, but the only inconvenience is that people are not allowed to park at night. This is due to Tyneham being an old town that is being preserved by the military. You can visit here during the day, but make sure to check online if you are planning on visiting at night to see if the car park is still open.
