Iraola believes Everton trip is a 'good chance' for AFC Bournemouth's first league win

AFC Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola is readying his troops for tomorrow's clash at Everton (3pm).

AFC Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola described as a “good chance” his team’s hopes of landing a first league win of the season at Everton – as he gets set for a crucial run of fixtures. 

Currently 19th in the Premier League standings after a tough run of games, Cherries have picked up three points from their first seven league contests. 

Having already played against the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham, Brighton, Chelsea and Arsenal, they take on the Toffees at Goodison Park on Saturday (3pm). 

Knowing victory would see them leapfrog Sean Dyche’s men in the table, the Dorset club then host Wolves and Burnley following the October international break.

Iraola said: “In the next games, we will see where we are exactly as a football team.

“The first chance we have to obtain the first win is tomorrow at Everton away, a club that is with us in the standings and I think it’s a good chance.”

Everton themselves have accumulated four points from seven fixtures. Their only league victory this campaign came at Brentford last month. 

Speaking about the Merseysiders, the Cherries boss added: “They are physically very powerful, they have players that can cover a lot of space, that’s why they are so good in second balls.

“With (Abdoulaye) Doucouré, with (Amadou) Onana, they make the pitch big and they have very good wingers, so we have to be ready.

“Even (Jordan) Pickford with long balls, his kick is very, very long, so you have to be ready in two or three seconds to defend your box.”

Cherries will once again be without USA International Tyler Adams, after he suffered a setback with a hamstring problem.
