Local Product Spotlight – JPNC Mexican Shop

At Beales, we believe that local shopping is the way forward. Because of this, we wanted to make September our Support Local month,and bring the spotlight to some local businesses that we absolutely love. The first business we’d love to show you is JPNC Mexican Shop, and we’ve asked them a few questions for you to get to know them a bit better!

Tell us about yourself?

I’m a Mexican national who grew up loving homemade Mexican food. 5 years ago, I moved to Poole with my wife and 2 kids from Mexico, looking for a quieter and safer place to live with our kids and the opportunity as a family to expand our English and cultural knowledge.

Tell us a bit about your business – what do you sell?

In March of this year we started our business. We sell authentic Mexican groceries, products, and food brands. These staples are commonly used in Mexican households as day to day cooking ingredients and foods.

What inspired you to start your business?

We were missing authentic Mexican food and ingredients, which are very hard to find in Poole. We decided to import Mexican products directly from Mexico and a partnership was created with a big Mexican supplier in the London area to start the business.

What are you most proud of about your business?

I have to say that it is authentic, good quality and full of flavour!

What’s your favourite product that you sell?

I have to say that it’s the corn tortillas and the hot sauces definitely! But overall, I am proud of every single product because they all have their own unique taste and flavour.

Is there anything else you’d like us to know about you and your business?

Yes, that it is a local company and family owned – we are starting small, but we have big dreams for the business, like making Mexican corn tortillas here in Poole. We sell very unique traditional products,so we want to add traditional Tequila and Mezcal.
