TGt Meets IWD Special…Stacey Tapping, Founder of Beauty Sculpting Room

Wednesday 8th March is International Women’s Day, and we here at Total Guide are celebrating the occasion with a range of interviews. We put Stacey Tapping, the founder of Beauty Sculpting Room, under the spotlight...

Tell us a bit about yourself...

I'm Stacey Tapping, founder of Beauty Sculpting Room and a mum. My entrepreneurial journey started at 14, and after various ventures, including a stint in education and running a unique wedding cake business, I discovered body sculpting.

This was after my own battle with post-pregnancy body changes, which led me to realise the lack of accessible non-surgical treatments outside major cities. So, I started from my home, aiming to make these treatments available to everyone, and now we've grown to two clinics, one in Dorset & the other in Hampshire.

What do you love most about your job?

What I cherish most about my role at Beauty Sculpting Room is witnessing the profound impact our treatments have on women's confidence and self-perception.

It's incredibly rewarding to see someone blossom and truly come out of their shell as they begin to see results. There's a transformative journey that each client undergoes, not just physically but emotionally and mentally as well. Observing this transformation how they carry themselves with more confidence, how their eyes light up when they talk about their progress is the essence of why I do what I do.

This goes beyond the satisfaction of providing a service, it's about being a part of someone's journey to transformation and self-love. Seeing the positive changes in how women view and feel about themselves reaffirms my passion and commitment to this work every single day.

What is your proudest achievement?

One of my proudest moments was seeing a Femme Exilis 360 treatment I delivered to a client being talked about in Hello magazine!! This milestone wasn't just a personal triumph, it was a testament to the dedication and innovation that define Beauty Sculpting Room.

Being featured in such a prestigious publication affirmed the impact of our work beyond the confines of our locations in Dorset and Hampshire.

Equally rewarding has been the opening of our newest clinic in Lymington this past December. Launching this clinic marked a significant milestone in our journey, expanding our reach and allowing us to help more women. Both achievements reflect our mission's impact and the growing trust in our work, motivating us to continue striving for excellence and innovation in the aesthetic non-surgical industry.

This year’s IWD theme is ‘Inspire Inclusion’ – what does this mean to you?

The theme 'Inspire Inclusion' for this year's International Women's Day holds a special significance for me. It speaks to creating a world where every woman feels comfortable and confident in her own skin, ready to show the world her true self without hesitation.

At Beauty Sculpting Room, this theme is at the heart of everything we do. We pride ourselves on being a place where every woman, regardless of her body shape, size, or background, can find a treatment that makes her feel seen, celebrated, and confident.

We understand that beauty and confidence are deeply personal, and our goal is to ensure that every woman who walks through our doors feels comfortable and supported in her journey.

Whether it's through fat reduction, skin tightening, or pelvic floor treatments, we're here to cater to the unique needs of each client, making sure they feel empowered and included.

'Inspire Inclusion' to us means breaking down the barriers that prevent women from feeling confident about their bodies, ensuring our clinics are spaces where all women can feel safe, respected, and treated with the utmost care.

What are the biggest challenges you have faced in your career?

The kaleidoscope of roles in my career—juggling the hats of mum, girlfriend, team therapist, HR guru, and makeshift accountant. Each role brings its own flavour of chaos and comedy, making my life an unpredictable yet utterly rewarding adventure.

Learning to dance in the rain of these challenges has not only honed my multitasking ability but also added a few laugh lines along the way.

It’s a journey of embracing the beautiful mess, finding joy in the madness, and discovering that behind every successful woman is herself, wearing multiple hats with a smile.

How do you balance your business and personal life?

Balancing the responsibilities of being a mum to two teenagers and managing Beauty Sculpting Rooms 2 clinics is a multifaceted challenge that hinges on time management to stay organised. I have set days devoted for tasks and a lot of alarms.

This balancing act is achievable due to the incredible support system I have in place. My fantastic team are dedicated and extremely hard working, enabling me to dedicate time to whatever I need to work on next.

Equally vital is the support I receive at home, my mum plays a crucial role, helping around the house, with the teens and running errands for the business, which significantly eases my daily load.

Additionally, my partner, Tom, is a pillar of strength and support, not just emotionally but practically, as he uses his expertise to enhance our business’s online presence through our website and Google.

This collective support makes the journey of motherhood intertwined with entrepreneurship not only manageable but profoundly satisfying.

Which women inspire you the most?

Simone Thomas, she is the founder of many businesses, the one I admire the most is Simone Thomas Wellness she is a trailblazer in women’s wellness and menopause support. Equally like myself she has had some difficult challenges in life, it’s never held her back. Simone's journey, from developing a successful line of supplements to securing spots in prestigious stores like Harrods and Sephora, exemplifies the heights women can achieve with passion and perseverance.

Her success in such a specialised field not only highlights the importance of focusing on women's health but also serves as a powerful reminder of what dedication and hard work can accomplish. It's women like her who reinforce my belief in the potential we have to make significant impacts in our chosen fields and in the lives of others."

What advice would you give to a woman starting her own business?

When starting a business, let your passion be your guiding light, much like our commitment to boosting women's confidence has been ours. Begin with a vision that deeply resonates with you, one that you're eager to wake up to every day.

Embrace challenges as they come, viewing them as stepping stones rather than roadblocks.

Building a supportive circle is key - find individuals who not only share your enthusiasm but also enrich your journey with wisdom and encouragement. If your business is built on a foundation of passion, like ours in fostering self-confidence among women, you'll find that every obstacle overcome is a step closer to realising your dream.

Embrace your passion as your compass, for those venturing into entrepreneurship, believing you'll have more freedom with your time is a common misconception. True freedom comes from navigating the challenges with resilience, guided by the unwavering light of your passion."
