Our town centre and it's businesses are open for business and working hard to make it safe for all customers to enjoy.

Whether you like to shop, pop out for lunch or meet a friend for coffee in town or just around the corner, we can all do our bit to support local businesses by rediscovering our favourite shopping areas safely. Local businesses have been doing their bit to be covid-safe, so it’s now time to support them and shop local, safely.

Our town centre has so much to offer. From must-have fashions to delicious homemade food, the experiences across our areas are unrivalled. 

We are encouraging you to make an active choice to shop and spend locally to keep our unique local businesses thriving. 

Reconnect with your favourite shop, café or restaurant, because local businesses are at the heart of your community. 

Staying safe

Whilst local shops, cafes and other businesses have been doing their bit to comply with government regulations, we all have our part to play in making shopping and going out a safe and enjoyable experience:

• wear a mask
• keep your distance 
• wash your hands.

Showing support is about so much more than just spending.

• post a positive review online or on social media 
• make a recommendation to your friends and family 
• give them a follow and share on social media 
• sign up for their newsletters or updates 
• give them a shout out.

About the Rediscover campaign

To support the safe return to town centres and high streets, BCP Council are launching the Rediscover campaign, funded by a Reopening High Streets Safely grant from the European Regional Development Fund, allocated by the government.

The initiative aims to reassure people that it is safe to shop and eat out, and remind them of the unique appeal of businesses and retailers. 

BCP have also been helping businesses access financial support and safety guidance throughout the pandemic.
